What Is a Raw Milk Herdshare? (And Why We Offer One at My EIEIO Farm)

At My EIEIO Farm, raw milk is more than just a product—it’s a reflection of our values: health, transparency, and sustainable living. Because of Texas regulations, raw milk can legally be accessed in two ways: by purchasing directly from a licensed raw milk dairy, or by participating in a herdshare program. We operate under the herdshare model because we are a small farm, and the cost of licensing as a Grade A dairy is not feasible for us at this time.

🥛 What Is a Herdshare?

A herdshare is a simple agreement: instead of buying raw milk directly, you purchase a share in one of our dairy animals. As a co-owner of the herd, you’re entitled to a portion of what the herd produces. It’s like owning a small part of the farm without needing to care for the animals yourself.

We offer both cow and goat herdshares, giving you the option to choose the milk that best suits your family's preferences and dietary needs.

🌿 100% Grass-Fed, Always

Our cows and goats are raised on pasture and are 100% grass-fed, never fed grain or soy. This supports their natural biology and promotes animal health while also producing milk that’s richer in nutrients, including beneficial fats, vitamins, and omega-3s.

We follow regenerative grazing practices that improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and ensure our animals live in a low-stress, natural environment.

Joining our herdshare is easy. We’ll walk you through the agreement, explain the pick-up process, and help you get started. Milk is available weekly for pick-up directly from the farm, and shares are limited to ensure the highest level of animal care and milk quality.
